(2.) QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE - ERA VULGARIS - One of the best rock & roll records released in 2007 — and the year sure needed the dose of thunder that this album provides.
(3.) NINE INCH NAILS - THE YEAR ZERO - Year Zero is the finest Nine Inch Nails recording since Downward Spiral.

After reviewing the NFL schedule for this week, NFL Week 10, I just had to ask myself the following questions before making my picks. Is this finally gonna be ‘TRAP’ game Sunday in the NFL? Are the Denver Broncos really gonna lose their 6th game this week? Will the Eagles also actually lose their 6th? Are the Dolphins and Rams actually gonna go 0 – 16 this season? I was even hesitating picking both of their games this week. They have to win a game eventually, don’t they? Are the Panthers finally gonna win a game at Home? They’ve lost their last 5 home games by a combined score of 149-51. Will the the Packers & Cowboys really win their 8th game already and the Lions & Titans actually win their 7th? Will the Bengals really lose their 7th? Something’s gotta give!

And now, although, I feel ‘TRAPPED’ in a world that I never made, having to pick this weeks games, my Stone Cold Lead Pipe LOCK for NFL Week 10 is still the:

Now to my Picks for NFL Week 10. My Bonus-LOCK this week is the CAROLINA PANTHERS over the Atlanta Falcons 23 - 16. In my 50 - 50 games I’ll take Pittsburgh over Cleveland 24 – 20. Yes, I do believe this is a fifty – fifty game, even at Pittsburgh. The Browns are a much better team now than when they first played the Steelers. I’ll also take the GIANTS over Dallas 34 – 30 as my other 50 – 50 toss up for this week, with the GIANTS covering the +1 spread, obviously.

My Bonus 50 -50 is the KC Chiefs over Denver 27 – 24. My Fake – Out for NFL Week 10 is ARIZONA over Detroit 26 -23. I’ll also take the Cardinals with the points in this one, whatever, the point spread is. My Bonus-Fake-Out is JACKSONVILLE over Tennessee 19 – 16

I Will Not pick San Francisco over SEATTLE at SEATTLE. Just can’t do it. And I also Will Not pick OAKLAND over Chicago, anywhere, especially after the Raiders let me down last week.

Abandoning overt prog — thereby leaving behind the extended instrumental sections, but not the synthesizer & guitar solos — Utopia became a mainstream rock band with their fourth album, Oops! Wrong Planet.

Oops! Wrong Planet is more consistent than earlier Utopia records. "Love in Action" is a terrific hard rocker, as is "Trapped," and "Love Is the Answer" is an ideal stadium anthem — that make the record worthwhile.

Given that I was at the VAN HALEN show last night at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC and I’m still trying to recover from partying, I might as well feature some of their songs, wouldn’t you say? Highlights from this show for me were the songs ‘Eruption’, ‘Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love’ and ‘Jamie’s Cryin’. These three songs were the Best since you could actually hear Eddie Van Halen’s guitar solos Loud & Clear.

‘Eruption’ was particularly fantastic since Eddie was getting guitar sounds that I’ve never really heard before, not necessarily for his fast guitar note playing. Wish I could say the same for the majority of the other songs, which sounded like muzzled distortion, noise.
